Crunchy kale chips

Tuesday, 8 March 2011

Satisfy your chip craving without all the calories! These easy-to-make, surprisingly delicious kale chips are a great, unique snack to ward off that afternoon hunger, with only 66 calories per serve.

What you’ll need…

  • A large bunch of kale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt to taste

(This recipe makes 4 serves)

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees C. Prepare a baking sheet with lightly-greased baking paper or foil.
  2. Wash the kale and remove the thick stems. Tear or cut up into chip-sized pieces, and spin in a salad spinner to dry it out.
  3. Drizzle the olive oil over the kale and sprinkle on some salt. Mix it up with your hands to make sure it spreads evenly.
  4. Spread the pieces of kale on the baking sheet, and roast until crunchy and slightly brown.
