Strawberry 'cheesecake' smoothie

This delicious smoothie is big enough to share between two people, and makes a great, filling breakfast. Full of protein (19.4 grams) and low in fat (2.7 grams), this sweet treat is a guilt-free way to start the day. This recipe makes one large serve with 237 calories. 

What you’ll need...

  • 1/2 cup skim milk
  • 1/2 cup low-fat cottage cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 2 cups frozen strawberries

Directions:

  1. Place the milk, cottage cheese and vanilla essence into the blender and mix until smooth. It should take about 30 seconds for all the lumps to be removed.
  2. Add the strawberries a few at a time. Blend between each addition until all the fruit is added. The shake should be smooth.
  3. Pour and enjoy!

You can also try it with frozen blueberries, mixed berries or even peaches. If you like your smoothies a little sweeter, add in some artificial sweetener to taste. Or for more of a creamy, cheesecake flavour, add in a little plain yogurt, or even some vanilla protein powder.
